West-tokyo kato othopaedic clinic has been providing high quality and comprehensive health care for each patient since it’s founded in 2008 in Hoya. We welcome English speaking patients. We have an English-speaking doctor and a physical therapist who are experts in areas of musculoskeletal so you can receive medical care and physical therapy in English speaking environment. We will work to find cause of your problem and return you to pre-injury fitness as soon as possible.

Do I need a doctor's referral before starting physical therapy?

You need a medical examination to receive physical therapy.

You first see a doctor and you will be referred to see a physical therapist as necessary.

How do I make an appointment with a doctor?

We only accept walk-in patients. It is not appointment.

You check in at the reception desk and fill out the patient questionnaire and see a medical doctor.

Waiting time will depend on how many patients so please wait at the waiting room until your name is called.

You bring your Japanese insurance card if you have.

How do I make an appointment with a physical therapist?

Physical therapy is appointment only.

After first session, your physical therapist makes a follow-up appintoment with you.

You can also make an appointment with a physical therapist at the reception desk OR call our clinic during office hours.

How long is a treatment session?

Your initial treatment will be 40 minutes.

Follow up treatment sessions will range between 20 – 40 minutes.

How many treatments will I need?

It varies from patient to patient, the length of your treatment depending on the your diagnosis, severity of your condition and your needs.

After your initial assessment, your physical therapist will create a personalized treatment plan for you and give you a guide as to how many treatments would be beneficial to you.

Your physical therapist will update you at each appointment so that you know where you are in your treatment plan.

What should I bring to my first physical therapy session?

You can wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows easy access to your affected body parts.

If you have a lower limb sports injury or any lower limb complaint where you feel footwear may play a role please bring with you any running shoes, football boots, work or casual shoes you feel relevant.

We can provide a spacious restroom for you to change your clothes.
